With the higher requirements for building a comprehensive education system of moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor education and forming a higher-level talent training system by the country and society, labor literacy has become an essential part of cultivating the comprehensive abilities of university students. Taking the labor literacy of Henan university students as the research object and based on the distributed cognition theory framework, a structural equation model composed of three modules, “personal strength” “regional strength”and “cultural strength”is constructed to quantitatively analyze the driving mechanism affecting the labor literacy of university students. The results show cognitive differences in labor literacy among university students. Among them, factors such as the number of children in the family and the education level of parents in “personal strength”and “regional strength”have a substantial impact on labor literacy; In “cultural strength”labor value cognition and labor emotional quality play a decisive role in university students’ labor literacy. Based on this, it is proposed to improve the labor literacy of university students through further strengthening labor values education, labor emotional quality cultivation, standardizing the labor literacy training process, improving the training mechanism, and establishing and improving the full-process framework of university students’ labor literacy.
