Spatio-temporal Evolution and Influencing Factors of Ecological Efficiency in High Efficiency Eco-economic Zone of the Yellow River Delta

Abstract

Based on the data of 19 counties in the Yellow River Delta high-efficiency eco-economic zone from 2010 to 2020, the unexpected SBM model is used to measure the ecological efficiency, and the temporal and spatial evolution characteristics of regional ecological efficiency are investigated by means of kernel density estimation and cluster analysis. On this basis, Tobit model is used to explore the driving factors of ecological efficiency. The results show that: The overall ecological efficiency of the Yellow River Delta high-efficiency eco-economic zone takes 2016 as the watershed, which remained stable in the early stage, and declined in the later stage due to the poor conversion of old and new kinetic energy, and begin to pick up after adjustment. There are obvious differences in ecological efficiency among cities, showing a “Chuan” spatial pattern of cross distribution of high-value areas and low-value areas. Nineteen counties can be divided into four categories according to the change of ecological efficiency, among which the fluctuation of middle and low-level cities is more obvious. As far as the whole region is concerned, the level of scientific and technological innovation, the ability of environmental governance and the degree of infrastructure guarantee promote the improvement of ecological efficiency, while the industrial structure and the degree of opening to the outside world have a restraining effect. The level of urbanization has no significant influence on the change of ecological efficiency, and the key drivers of ecological efficiency are heterogeneous in time and space.
